How Does Spotting Exactly Look Like

Cuba, history of revolutions and dances

Perhaps no other country in the world has devoted much attention to its history as Cuba The largest island of the Antilles was, as everyone knows, the discovery back in October 28, 1492 by Christopher Columbus. Convinced that arrived in the Asian part of the globe, in Japan, appeared so wonderful that the navigator said, "is the most beautiful land that human eyes have ever seen." A vast territory to seem a continent and not an island (I guess they left the natives in their language). The main reason (you could not only deal of misunderstanding language) was clearly caught by Bartolome de Las Casas: "When a man wants something strongly and there it sticks firmly with the imagination, at all times have the impression that all that they see and hear you speak in favor of that thing. " We soon realized that Cuba Earth from space was huge, crowded with indigenous people dedicated to hunting, gathering fruits and some primitive forms of agriculture. While not forgetting a past full of dark pages sixteenth century, slavery decrees implemented by Charles V and hundreds of thousands of Indians reduced to a few tens of units, from the nineteenth century the Caribbean island is hit by the popular uprisings that make test. After less than a century, in fact, there are four great revolutions. But it is the so-called "fourth revolution," which always arouses much interest, debate and curiosity. The acts of heroism, the legends and stories fiery passionate lot. In the fifties of the twentieth century the island of Cuba, uneasy and contradictory, is a natural setting of the facts told by contemporary historians. Since 1952, the year of the coup, the dictator Fulgencio Batista in Cuba intensified its nightlife, while increasing corruption and prostitution were increasingly fed up the number of U.S. tourists who enjoy the pleasures of the night "habanera". America, with the dictator in power, he could enjoy the "patio trasero" (literally "back garden", but used in the sense of "garden entrance) a privileged location for their holidays. There were many revolutions, then and only in Havana, many were dances. If there were forty per day. The bassist Israel "Cachao" Lopez, a pioneer of mambo, recalls those days: "The dances were fantastic, with lots of color, very public, with people sweating, but that he enjoyed very much. For example, in the black community dances were to last until four in the morning, woe to those who had gone before. Whites no, whites danced until one o'clock, two in the morning and then went away. " To understand what was the Cuban Revolution is a young law student who must move. Fidel Castro, the son of a Galician arrived in Cuba after the English army, had unsuccessfully attempted to overthrow the government Fulgencio Batista. Preparations insurgency entered its operational phase with the attack on the Moncada barracks in July 1953 (day of the carnival of Santiago). All the preparations, however, were spoiled by a great improvisation. Most participants were from Havana and did not know the result of the eastern provinces were lost in the street and they came to the barracks compact. It issued in a defeat resulting in repression. Fidel's brother and a few others took refuge in the mountains near Santiago. The ingenuity of the Batista pushed to give a public trial also broadcast on television. The young lawyer was sentenced to 15 years in prison, but do not underestimate became famous thanks to the medium. During the mid-century revolution turned Cuba into a small Las Vegas, full of dance halls, cabarets, casinos. These were the years of the legendary Tropicana, the salon rosado, the tropical and the likes of Benny More. In the midst of a great revolution is experienced Cuban and American sounds at times intertwined in an immense "Mescla musical. In this hectic time comes one of the dances even today among the most popular in the Latin American panorama, in Italy and worldwide, the chacha of the violinist Enrique Jorrin. Meanwhile, the revolution was just beginning. In the re-launch his international image Batista grants clemency to Fidel Castro committed an unforgivable error. Who went to Mexico to follow his brother, Fidel knows the doctor Ernesto Guevara said "Che." The revolutionary adventure of the late fifties saw a handful of surviving twelve men after a failed landing in the Bay of Niquero forced to hide in the mountains of Sierra Maestra. In January 1957, is accompanied on the Sierra correspondent of the New York Times, Herbert Matthews, whose interview with Fidel arouses great stir in the States and especially in Cuba was the turning point. After the interview, many began to join the ranks of so-called twelve. The end sees a small army to face the national popular After crossing the island, until the decisive battle of Santa Clara, 30 December 1958. The New Year's Eve is called in January 1959 Batista fled stealing money from the national reserves. Fidel Castro and his men, entered Havana in triumph. Cuba is the island of too much suffering and so many injustices. Island of the hundred thousand loves dancing and Cuba remains a breathless rush towards a much desired freedom. "In the face of all dangers, in the face of all threats, assaults, blockades, sabotage, all the runners, all the powers that seek to restrain, we must demonstrate, once again, the ability of the people of construct their own history "Guevara.
